As you would expect, Hotelnet takes the security of your information very seriously,
and wish to reassure you of how sensitive we are to the issue.
More than 90% of all our hotel pages are controlled by our own programmers and in
these cases we use TWO levels of security:
- A secure server (www.secure-serve.com) with encryption provided by Thawte. This
provides for complete security of all your personal details (such as credit card
information) between your computer and our WEB servers. So when you send us information
on one of our forms, it's secure.
- Once your details reach us they are then handled in one of two ways:
- Internally on our own mainframe system for hotels branded 'Superbreak', which is
fully protected from external access.
- For other hotels where our link to them is through the Pegasus global system, (such
as Marriott, Hilton, Best Western, etc.) are all sent using hardware encryption
known as a VPN (Virtual Private Network).
Security on the remaining hotels (Minotel and Active Hotels) is handled by the hotel
chain themselves, both of which use secure servers similar to the security protecting
Superbreak hotels.
